seaside town offers the opportunity for a day of sightseeing as well. Port San
Luis Lighthouse is one of the best kept secrets on the Central Coast. Guided
tours of the lighthouse give visitors a glimpse into its rich history,
established in 1890 and operating until the mid-seventies. In 1995 it was
restored to museum quality.

Avila
Valley Barn is another popular stop for visitors, home to the freshest, locally
grown fruits and vegetables. Locally made ice cream, baked goods, jams, and
flowers are also sold. In addition to hanging out with goats, sheep and other
farm animals, seasonal activities include hayrides and u-pick apples.

for local wares and gifts is part of the fun of traveling. A variety of shops
line the beachfront promenade selling everything from high-end clothing and
